and led by Chelsea Derrico, a longtime Chicago Family Doulas team lead, mentor, childbirth educator, and leader in doula development.

If you have previously completed our Postpartum Doula Training or Birth Doula Training, this mentorship will extend your certification for an additional three years.

Who is this program for?
This mentorship is designed for both new and experienced birth and postpartum doulas who want to strengthen their skills and grow professionally.
Is this program live?
Yes. The mentorship meets live on Zoom once a week for six consecutive weeks.
Will this extend my certification?
Yes. If you previously completed our Birth or Postpartum Doula Training, this mentorship extends your certification for three years.
What will we focus on during the program?
Communication, confidence, troubleshooting client situations, professionalism, standing out in the field, and building a sustainable doula career.
Chelsea Derrico has spent years mentoring doulas as a team lead at Chicago Family Doulas, supporting them as they grow into confident professionals. She currently runs the onboarding process and teaches all onboarding courses, giving her a deep understanding of what doulas truly need to succeed in this work.
Her mentorship combines practical experience, thoughtful guidance, and high professional standards that help doulas grow with confidence and clarity.
Anna Rodney is a lifelong learner who has dedicated her career to education and supporting families. After the birth of her first child in 2009, she developed a deep passion for birth and newborn care, becoming a labor and postpartum doula and childbirth educator. She is a Newborn Care Specialist, Lactation Educator, Lamaze Instructor, Happiest Baby on the Block parent educator, and former Hypnobirth Instructor. Anna is also the founder and lead faculty of Birth & Baby University (BBU), where she trains labor and postpartum doulas and childbirth educators.
In addition to teaching, Anna supports families as the owner of Chicago Family Doulas, connecting with thousands of expecting and new parents each year. Before focusing on birth and parenting education, she spent over a decade as a special education teacher and holds multiple degrees in special education as well as a master’s degree in education. Anna is passionate about making learning engaging, practical, and supportive for families navigating birth and early parenthood.
