Which one is yours

Both cohorts are live, small-group mentorship. The difference is who the work is for.

If you are the doula

You are building your own practice: your clients, your confidence and your own systems. That is Doula Mentorship.

If you run — or are starting — the agency

You are responsible for other doulas, the client experience across a team, and the business behind it. That is the Agency Owner Mentorship.

What a live cohort is like

Both programs are small live groups, not recorded courses. You bring your own work to the sessions and leave with the group still behind you.

Live, and small on purpose

Sessions run on Zoom with the same group each week, so the room is a conversation rather than a broadcast.

Your work is the material

You bring a real client situation, a decision you are sitting on, or the part of the business you have not had time for.

It keeps going after the last session

Access to the resources and the group continues after the cohort ends.

Hear from the Cohort Participants

Participants describing what each program did for them.

A doula who took the program, in her own words: already trained before she joined, and clear about what the mentorship added on top.
Kristin Revere, an agency owner of eleven years, on what the small group gave her and why she would join again.

Not trained yet?

Both mentorship cohorts are for people already working in birth and postpartum care. If you are starting out, the initial doula training is the right first step, and mentorship stays optional afterwards.

BBU’s initial doula trainings are online and self-paced, and each is a standalone program. You do not need to buy mentorship with them, and you do not need to have trained with BBU to join a cohort later.

Questions

Which program is for me?

If you are building your own practice — clients, confidence, systems — that is Doula Mentorship. If you are running an agency, or taking on more referrals than you can personally serve and building one, that is the Agency Owner Mentorship.

Do I need to be a trained doula?

For the Doula Mentorship credential, yes: you need prior doula training, from BBU or elsewhere, including an expired certificate you want reviewed. If you have not trained yet, start with the initial doula training. The Agency Owner Mentorship is for people running or starting an agency, and it is not a doula training.

Are the sessions live?

Yes. Both programs are live cohorts on Zoom with a small group. The Doula Mentorship runs six weekly sessions; the Agency Owner Mentorship runs five weekly sessions of about two hours.

What do they cost?

Doula Mentorship is $300 for the six-session October cohort. Agency Owner Mentorship is $1,000 for the five-session spring 2027 cohort, April 6–May 4, Tuesdays from noon–2 p.m. Central. Enrollment is open for both.
